Today I was given another gift, taking my total to three presents from three children on three days.
The first was a pebble. A pebble is a usefull tool for the children, for as long as they can hold it aloft whilst calling, “Stein in Hand!” they are immune from being caught in the Tag game.
The second was a horse chestnut. This was accompanied by an earnest explanation of its history and provenance. So I can be assured that it is a genuine chestnut.
Todays gift was a pair of small stones with colour on one side. Of course, an adult can see they are just fragments from the painted garden wall, but to the kids they are the rarest stones in the sand pit, giving them immense value.
